0-19 Service colleagues pick up four City University Practice Excellence Awards!

Posted on: 29 June 2022

Congratulations to our four 0-19 service colleagues who are now proud recipients of City University Practice Excellence Awards 2020/21.

The Practice Excellence Awards shine a light on the outstanding achievement of placement providers, and the contribution of placement colleagues who support students’ learning in practice. An important fact is that it is the students who vote for who should be nominated, with a judging panel comprising of members of the SHS Practice Education Committee eventually selecting the award winners.

Four GP Care Group colleagues from the 0-19 Service were nominated and earlier this month (14 June), they were honoured at the School of Health Sciences Annual Award ceremony at Haberdasher Hall.

The Award winners:

  • Debbie Edington, School Nurse – Practice Assessor of the Year 2019-20
  • Jackie Milburn, Locality Clinical Manager Health Visiting - Practice Assessor of the Year 2019-20
  • Syeda Begum, Locality Clinical Manager Health Visiting - Practice Assessor of the Year 2020-21
  • Kat Sturgeon, Clinical Lead Health Visiting – Special Recognition 2019-20

Mary Marsh, Clinical Director 0-19 Services, said: “This is wonderful news. The awards given to our colleagues are a true reflection of the dedication and commitment in supporting our pre-reg nursing and post-grad SCPHN students and are an indication of the quality of the students’ placement experiences across the 0-19 Service.”
