The report covers Care Group achievements during the year, as well as giving a topline overview of our finances.
Highlights from 2023/24 include a ‘Good’ rating following a Care Quality Commission inspection of our Urgent Treatment Centre and GP Out of Hours service; the first anniversary of the Care Group operating the 0-19 service in Waltham Forest; and the launch of the Tower Hamlets Child Healthy Weight Directory of Support Services.
The report breaks down our work across our three areas of Federated Support, Preferred Provider and Anchor Organisation.
Under Federated Support, our Social Prescribing Service had 11,000 referrals during the year, and co-produced projects with local people. Childhood immunisation screening uptake rose significantly, and our P-RESET primary care drug and alcohol use service saw greater awareness and community engagement.
Our Preferred Provider work area saw strong take-up of our Advocacy and Interpreting Service with almost 5,000 patients supported during the busiest month. Tower Hamlets 0-5 Health Visiting Service received strong user feedback with almost nine out of ten saying their experience was good or very good.
As an Anchor Organisation, we made strides in creating a great workplace for all, with a new Staff Survey approach, a hybrid working policy launched and extensive programmes to train the local workforce across North East London.
