Care Group hosted its first-ever bring and buy sale as part of its charitable partnership work. Hosted at Care Group headquarters in Island Health, Isle of Dogs, on Thursday 18 September, colleagues came together to serve delicious food and sell their wares for great causes.
The charity fair event raised funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) and Neighbours in Poplar. More than £400 was raised on the day, which will be split equally between the two charities.
Maju Miah, lead for charitable partnerships, said: “This was an amazing team effort, and the willingness shown by everyone was truly tremendous. None of this would have been possible without each person’s time and dedication. It really shows that when we come together, we can achieve great things and make a real difference.”
Ekramul Hoque, Assistant Director for Workforce Transformation, Inclusion & Health Inequalities, said: “I want to say how proud I feel delivering on a brilliant fundraiser. Apart from supporting worthwhile causes, it demonstrated our core values as an organisation. We know how giving plays a key role in wellbeing too - mentally and spiritually. The next one will be even bigger and better!”
Social value is a core part of the Care Group’s work in all of the neighbourhoods it works in, supporting local employment, buying locally or delivering initiatives to support the wellbeing of communities in Tower Hamlets and across North East London.
