Free weight loss programmes for disabled Tower Hamlets residents

Do you need help losing weight? Why not try a choice of free weight loss programmes available in Tower Hamlets?

Disability Weight Management Service programme

Making healthier choices and being more active isn’t always easy if you’re not sure how to get started. To give you a kickstart on your improved lifestyle, Ability Bow is offering a free 12-week Disability Weight Management Service programme, which provides one-to-one or small group exercise and nutrition sessions. 

It’s suitable for all Tower Hamlets residents and people who work or study in the borough who are aged 18 over, are overweight or obese, and living with a physical disability. 

Participants will be able to increase physical activity levels with support from expert instructors and work with a dietitian to identify ways to eat healthily and manage weight. Courses will be run in different areas of Tower Hamlets including Ability Bow, and online.

Shape Up Programme

The Community Learning Disability Service (CLDS) and Create are introducing a community weight management programme called ‘Shape Up’to support adults with learning disabilities within Tower Hamlets to lose weight and to develop healthier and more active lifestyles. 

Participants will be offered weekly fitness and information sessions over 12 weeks as well as one-on-one input from health and lifestyle professionals working within the CLDS.
