GP Care Group donates 50 laptops for refugees (lonely orphans)

Posted on: 22 November 2022

The GP Care Group has collaborated with the charity Lonely Orphans for their Laptops for Refugees campaign which seeks to support a programme of training refugees in digital skills to support their learning and livelihoods.

Living in an ever-changing environment where access to employment is scarce or restricted, this can be a means to access to learn and earn wherever they are in the world.

Lonely Orphans was founded in Tower Hamlets and champions a lot of local engagement in charity and volunteer work in the borough, the GP Care Group was able to provide 50 laptops to go on to support students in the Rohingya refugee camps of Bangladesh. After going through unimaginable trauma and loss these schools and programmes are a lifeline to build towards a better future for themselves and their community.

The laptops will be distributed in the coming weeks.
