Dr. Kenny Siu takes on some of the most common questions that children and young people have about COVID vaccines in a fun new Health Spot video.
The FAQ-style video was co-produced with young people from Tower Hamlets and features Dr. Kenny Siu, one of our Health Spot GPs, tackling questions, voiced by young people, like: “What’s the point of getting the vaccine?”, “Was the vaccine process rushed?” and “What about the side effects, can they be bad?”. Dr. Kenny explains the answers to these and many more questions in his usual easy-to-understand and friendly tone.
Providing the answers to these questions in an accessible way is important as young people should also have the opportunity to understand and make their choices based on facts, just like everyone else. As Dr. Kenny said in the video: “Of course, if you’re worried, go and speak to your GP. Feel free to ask questions and be comfortable on making your own decision.”
Health Spot is a confidential health advice drop-in service for young people in Tower Hamlets and offers a GP-led service based at Spotlight, the borough’s creative youth service. Health Spot offers friendly, confidential medical appointments with a doctor who is experienced in supporting young people with health needs.
Health Spot was created by Spotlight, Poplar HARCA’s youth provision, and Tower Hamlets GP Care Group and based in Spotlight’s main youth centre, this GP service is free for 11-19-year-olds (up to 25 for those facing additional challenges).
