Mavis Effie, south west Health Visiting colleague, has won the prestigious Academic Development Award from City University School of Health Sciences.
Mavis, who qualified as a Health Visitor in September 2019, is the first Specialist Community Practice Health Nursing (SCPHN) student in Tower Hamlets to receive this accolade. She was supported in her placement by her Practice Teacher, Violet Smith, who has mentored student health visitors in Tower Hamlets for over 25 years.
Mavis has been invited to receive her prize at the annual School of Health Sciences Student Practice Excellence Awards ceremony to be held at University of London Senate House on 24 March 2020.
