Posted on: 9 May 2022

Are you struggling with your mental health and don’t know where to turn for help? To support Tower Hamlets residents The Lateef Project is offering free counselling for people who have been suffering from common mental health problems within the boroughs of Tower Hamlets, Newham, and Hackney.

This service operates a self-referral online system, but referrals can also be completed with one of the project’s team members over the phone.

The counsellors are fully qualified and competent in working with Common mental health problems such as:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety disorders
  • Trauma and PTSD
  • Domestic abuse
  • Bereavement
  • Childhood sexual abuse
  • Addiction
  • Coping skills
  • Self-esteem
  • Relationship issues
  • Stress

The assessment will be carried out by senior counsellors upon receiving a referral form. Although the service offers primarily faith-based counselling, the service is open to anyone of faith or no faith, and to any gender.

If you would like to self-refer to the service or know someone that will benefit from counselling, please download and share the form and leaflet below.
