Measles cases are on the rise: Protect your child at our clinics

After clean water, immunisation is the most effective public health intervention in the world for saving lives and promoting good health. It is never too late catch up with your child’s immunisations.

Measles is on the increase in London. Attending your child’s immunisation appointments will help make sure you and your child stay healthy.

It is never too late catch up with your child’s immunisations and you can book appointments for missed vaccinations at any time. The sooner your child is up to date with their routine immunisations, the better and you can book appointments for missed vaccinations at any time.

Local GP practices are supporting the vaccination uptake for the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine and you can see the drop in dates and locations at the Tower Hamlets council website. This includes the routine childhood immunisation schedule that is typically followed and information for expectant mothers on vaccinations they’ll need during pregnancy. This resource is particularly useful for residents as it not only tells you what vaccine is needed and when but where you can go locally to receive it for you or your child.

We understand that for some residents, all the different vaccines available can be confusing and overwhelming. Often not having the right information or simple and easy to take in information can cause a lot of hesitancy in parents or carers wanted to do best for their children. Helpfully, Tower Hamlets Council put together some commonly asked questions from parents and carers that may want more health information on vaccines. Download a copy here or speak to your GP today for further guidance and support.
