The Melodies for Mums programme is back for a 10-week online course for new mothers. For those experiencing stress, anxiety, low mood or social isolation after the birth of the child or who may have a diagnosis of postnatal depression, this programme is for you.
Singing with your baby is a wonderful stress reliever, a way for you to bond with your little one and build confidence.
The programme is free to attend, and no previous experience of singing is required.
Sessions will take place online over Zoom and will run for 10 weeks starting Thursday 30 January 2025 with two sessions running 10-11am and 11.15am-12.15pm.
Led by Breathe Arts Health Research, the programme is based on groundbreaking research by the Royal College of Music and Imperial College London. The research highlights the positive impact that singing can have on mental health. You can watch a TEDxNHS talk on the subject to find out more.
