New 0-19 Single Point of Access Service for families

Posted on: 23 February 2023

Parents and carers now have a quick and simple gateway to access our Health Visiting and School Nursing teams via a new Single Point of Access route. This service is available between Monday to Friday during the hours of 9am and 5pm.

How do I access the service?

Simply call 0204 551 1414.

When you call you will be asked to choose between the Health Visiting and School Nursing Team. Your call will be transferred to speak to one of our helpful support team members who will ask for your details to access your records before triaging your call and connecting you with the right professional to help you with your query. This may be in the form of a return call or booking you an appointment in a face-to-face or virtual clinic.

What support does the service offer?

Some of the things that we can help you with include:

Breastfeeding support and advice.

Baby clinics – including growth assessments, safety advice and accident prevention.

Development assessments including referrals to other agencies, where appropriate.

Nutritional advice (including introduction of solids).

Oral hygiene and dental care advice.

Smoking cessation.

Parental mood assessment.

Support with bonding and attachment.

If you have a concern about your child being unwell you should always contact your GP, NHS111, or in an emergency, dial 999.
