Tower Hamlets Together (THT) has appointed a new independent Chair, Amy Gibbs, who joins the THT Board in April. Amy is also Chief Executive of maternity charity Birthrights and has previously held senior roles at Mind, The Children's Society and Unicef UK.
She has played an active role in Tower Hamlets since moving to the borough in 2006, including five years as Vice-Chair of East End Citizen Advice Bureau and eight years as an elected councillor for Bethnal Green, where she served in the Cabinet of Tower Hamlets Council from 2015 to 2018.
Amy is welcomed by the board and outgoing chair Isabel Hodkinson. The move to a new chair had been planned for some time, with Isabel's role as transitional, and she is delighted to see Tower Hamlets Together moving from strength to strength and formalising powerful, independent leadership. Isabel will remain with Tower Hamlets Together as principal clinical lead for integration.
Amy and Isabel said "We look forward to working together, with partners and the wider public to ensure a smooth handover and take THT into this exciting new phase."
