The Be Well programme has been developed to create inclusive, accessible, and sustainable leisure opportunities for adults with learning disabilities. This is to address health disparities for adults with learning disabilities and support their physical and mental wellbeing.
Key components of the programme include:
Training leisure centre staff to better support people with a learning disability
Increasing the number and range of accessible activities
Promoting social connection and reducing isolation
Working with local services, including supported living providers and community organisations, to help participants access these opportunities.
Led by the ICM Foundation, with support from Public Health and the Integrated Commissioning Team, this initiative aims to remove barriers and ensure equity in access to healthy, active lifestyles across our community.
