We’re so proud to support the work of Al-Nasr Agency who do great work to support the local Somali community, including a recent mental health project “The Power of a Conversation”.

“The Power of a Conversation” event sought to address the issues facing people from the Somali community when faced with a mental health issue. The event brought together expert speakers and residents for food, drink and interactive sessions on mental health. Offering residents opportunities for to have those ‘conversations’ with relevant agencies support groups in Tower Hamlets.

Al-Nasr Agency, said: “Your sponsorship played a crucial role in its [the events] success. We are grateful for your commitment to our cause. Your belief in our mission and your generous sponsorship have made a tangible difference in our community.”

Our Equalities, Diversity and Inclusion Facilitator, Layla Abdi said: "The atmosphere was fantastic, the speakers were great, and everyone engaged so well in the small group activities. It's clear that the event made a meaningful impact, and the positive energy in the room was great.”

The success of this event was due in part to one of our Care Coordinators, Dega Hassan who continues to go above and beyond their role to support this local initiative, like so many other local NHS heroes. We love to showcase the hard work of colleagues working directly with residents support them in the community.
