Tower Hamlets CEPN to host special screening of 'Evelyn' to highlight suicide and bereavement

Posted on: 1 July 2019

The Tower Hamlets CEPN (Community Education Provider Network) is hosting a special screening of the movie Evelyn, a powerful story about a family bereaved by suicide, on Tuesday 16 July 2019 at the Royal Foundation of St Katharine.

With the worrying fact that one in four adults and one in 10 children experiences mental illness, the CEPN is presenting this screening as part of its commitment around supporting healthcare workforce to deal with Mental Health and Suicide Prevention. The team produces a raft of support and training development around this issue, available on their website here.

There will be two special screenings of the 1hr 41 mins movie on Tuesday 16 July 2019 as well as networking opportunities and a reflective discussion as part of the event.

The film follows the story of a family, based on the real-life experiences of the Oscar-winning director (Orlando von Einsiedel), as they go on a hike across the UK.  The story charts their bereavement process over the loss of their brother Evelyn, while they confront a past they'd previously found hard to discuss.

There will be opportunity to network over lunch with local Mental Health stakeholders.
