Tower Hamlets Council’s programme of summer activities for children and young people

Posted on: 27 July 2022

Are you a parent looking for exciting things for your child to do during the summer holidays?

This summer, why not take advantage of Tower Hamlets Council’s action-packed programme of summer activities which offers a wide range of projects to help your child learn new skills they can put to use when they start school in September.

The Council and partner organisations have teamed up to offer families hundreds of events and activities during the school summer break.

The programme includes sport, park activities, farm visits, cooking and baking, gardening sessions, nature activities, theatre and drama, skills training and much more. Most of the activities are free with some offering free healthy meals for families.

Lutfur Rahman, Mayor of Tower Hamlets, said: “With more than 600 free events on offer during the school summer holidays benefitting more than 14,500 recipients, this year’s summer of fun programme promises to give local young people and families a chance to relax, take part in sport or a physical activity or enjoy a new cultural experience.

Many of the activities offer a free meal to all participants, supporting families who may be experiencing hardship, especially during the long school break and when the cost-of-living crisis is impacting families.”
