The hugely popular event gave an opportunity for workforce members of the Tower Hamlets health and care partnership to come together to be recognised for their commitment to residents throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. The occasion also marked the NHS celebrating 75 years of service.
Numerous stalls showcasing the vast array of health and care services available to local residents were on hand, offering information and merchandise to passersby. The fair was also an opportunity to demonstrate how the different services complement and support each other.
Ekramul Hoque, Assistant Director for Workforce Transformation, Inclusion & Health Inequalities, was on the fair organising committee.
Speaking about the event, he said: “It’s been four years since we’ve been able to host an event like this. It was great getting the local workforce together again and see them enjoy themselves. We enjoyed a lovely spread of South Asian cuisine with everything from samosas to bhajis and biryani.”
Amy Whitelock Gibbs, independent chair of Tower Hamlets Together, said the those who attended demonstrated how much they care about our community. She said she saw a number of services talking with one another to find ways to collaborate and benefit people in Tower Hamlets.
“I’ve seen a lot of good chats with some of the stall holders,” Amy said. “There’s new partnerships potentially growing and that’s what this is all about.
"Tower Hamlets isn’t the board that I chair, but it’s all about the work that you do everyday for our community, which includes people who live and work here. Thank you for being here and everything you do for people in Tower Hamlets."
Special thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of the event.
