Now more than ever we are seeing the kindness of individuals and communities as thousands of people volunteer to help those in need. This Volunteers' Week we want to say a big thank you to everyone across north east London who have been going out of their way to help our NHS and others.
Throughout the year volunteers provide vital support to our communities that help people to stay well, or live independently at home. Whether it is running classes to help people stay active, befriending those who are at risk of feeling isolated, or sharing their experiences to help improve local health services, we are grateful to volunteers for all they do.
In these unprecedented times, we have also seen an outpouring of support and kindness in our communities. Through your selfless care, our NHS services have been able to focus on treating those who are most unwell, and save lives. Whether it is doing the shopping for a vulnerable neighbour, helping people stay in touch, or back office staff who've put themselves forward to work on the frontline, we want to thank you.
This sense of community is inspiring, and something we all hope will continue and can be built on. We would encourage anyone who wants to give back to the NHS to sign up to our Citizens' Panel, it's a quick, easy and flexible way to help us continue to improve health and care where you live. Visit www.eastlondonhcp.nhs.uk to sign up now.
At a time when demand and expectations of those working for our health and care services has been at its highest, and throughout the year, your kindness really makes a difference. Thank you.
