Who are you saying ‘Thank you’ to this Volunteers' Week?

Posted on: 29 April 2022

This year’s Volunteers’ Week takes place between 1 to 7 June this year, so now is your chance to start planning any special activities or showcases to celebrate any volunteers you know.

The theme this year is ‘a time to say thanks’ and there is certainly a lot to be thankful for. This year Volunteers’ Week coincides with The Queen's Platinum Jubilee weekend (two bank holidays on Thursday 2 and Friday 3 June) and the school half-term holiday in Tower Hamlets from Monday 30 May to Friday 3 June. It also coincides with The Big Lunch (2–5 June) and Thank You Day on Sunday 5 June.

There are loads of ideas and inspiration on the Volunteers’ Week website, including tips on planning an event, using social media, lots of useful templates (certificate, press release, Zoom background), and communications and logo packs (eg fun graphics, example emails and tweets, website banners and much more).

With almost all government restrictions lifted, but COVID-19 cases still currently high in London, you may wish to incorporate COVID safety measures or have contingency plans. Perhaps hold your event outdoors, socially distanced, or online.

At the GP Care Group, we want to take the opportunity to say a special ‘Thank you’ to all the COVID Vaccination Marshall volunteers, and indeed everyone who selflessly volunteered their time and efforts during the pandemic. We couldn’t have pulled through this without you.
