Kudos to Care Group winners at THT Staff Awards 2023

Congratulations to our Care Group colleagues and team who won awards at this year’s THT ‘Integrated Care’ Awards ceremony on Thursday 7 December 2023.

Posted on: 20 December 2023

Tower Hamlets Together is the borough’s partnership of local health and social care organisations whose ambition and vision is to improve the health and wellbeing of its residents. Two years ago, the partnership launched the THT ‘Integrated Care’ Awards to celebrate the fantastic work accomplished within the borough by our staff over the last year.

This year’s virtual event, hosted by Amy Gibbs (THT independent Chair) and Roberto Tamsanguan (GP and Tower Hamlets Place Clinical Director), brought together 130 enthusiastic attendees across the seven  organisations under the THT partnership. Of the six categories, Care Group winners emerged across three categories.

Commenting on the high standard of the nominations, a THT spokesperson said: “The shortlisting panel had difficulty in singling out clear highly commended and winners and this resulted in many joint award winners which in itself was celebrated by all!

“We would like to thank all those who took the time to nominate, all who were able to attend and of course nominees, those recognised as highly commended and winners!”

Here’s what the Care Group winners said about receiving their awards…

Ekramul Hoque – Assistant Director Workforce Transformation and Inclusion

“It’s always humbling to be recognised, especially from people you work closely with. We are fortunate in Tower Hamlets to be working with some amazing people and visionary leaders. Being able to think outside the box and respond to the needs of our workforce and community is empowering. We work through challenging times and lots of barriers to deliver equitable health care, but we are making progress collectively as a partnership to address those. Thanks again.”

Ayfiya Samad - Bilingual Health Advocate

“Thank you so much for the award, I am honoured to have received this award and very much appreciate it.

Thank you for the acknowledgment and recognition of my work in NHS. Congratulation to all the winners.”

Auzufa Choudhury - Bilingual Health Advocate

“I am grateful to have the opportunity to deliver a service to the people of Tower Hamlets. Our service users are our main priority and will remain our top priority. My fellow colleagues have also worked really hard in providing an excellence service to a large number of people and we aim to improve everyday so that we can continue to provide an even better quality service.”

Saleha Uddin - Bilingual Health Advocate

“It is great to be acknowledged, appreciated and recognised by the brilliant people that I work with. Flexibility and adaptability are things that I pride myself on and I believe I have evidenced this in my work over the past decades. I do not take this lightly and I would like to thank once again those who kept me in mind when thinking about this award.”
