Launching our new Parent and Baby Emotional Wellbeing Service

Our newly launched Parent & Baby Emotional Wellbeing (PBEW) service is a pioneering initiative within our Waltham Forest Family Hubs programme.

Posted on: 8 April 2024

The service provides specialist and tailored support to expectant parents, and parents with children under two years, who are struggling with their emotional wellbeing. The service also offers parent-infant relationship interventions.

The PBEW service is an integrated team of Specialist Practitioners, Early Help Family Practitioners, Community Nursery Nurses and a psychotherapist – bringing together colleagues from the Care Group, NELFT and the local authority.  As well as working with families directly, the PBEW service is a central point of referral for the wide range of support that is already available in the community.

The service is now accepting referrals for Waltham Forest families.

Claire Lapworth, Operational Lead for the service, said: β€œit’s very exciting to be working within an inter-disciplinary team as we are already learning so much from each other, as well as using our existing networks, to build an integrated pathway that will help parents and practitioners get the most out of local services.”
