Tower Hamlets GPs rallied to protest during COP26

Posted on: 23 November 2021

Tower Hamlets General Practice is clear that the climate crisis is a health crisis. This month, 10 Tower Hamlets GPs came together to protest in London, and GPs Jennifer McArthy and Emma Radcliffe were in Glasgow, appealing to the COP26 leaders to take bold action. (See the above photographs)

Following the protests Joint Chief Executive, Chris Banks shared the message: "Climate is very relevant at the moment. During COP26 it was absolutely brilliant to see 10 Tower Hamlets GPs out marching through Glasgow and London. The Care Group signed up to Climate Emergency a couple of years ago, and the small group led by Emma Radcliffe, GP at Aberfeldy Practice has been working alongside other GPs looking at the green agenda and making all practices green. The GP Care Group supports this goal."

The GP Care Group signed the Healthy Climate Prescription letter here. This was signed by 46 million doctors and was presented at COP26 along with a powerful video.
