IT Support for Practices
The GP Care Group has fully mobilised its IT working solutions to cloud-hosted services using the Office 365 suite which has resulted in a faster and seamless file sharing and collaboration platform. Practices are able to access Microsoft Office resources on SharePoint and fully utilise Teams to collaborate and use applications to access all essential files centrally which significantly eases navigation, document control whilst providing an interactive and user-friendly interface. The IT team can also provide Office 365 top-up training to all Practice staff to enable them to fully utilise all the features of Office 365, ensuring our workforce is digitally confident.
Training modules include:
- An Overview of Office 365 with an emphasis on Digital Safety
- One Drive and SharePoint features including uploading/downloading and sharing
- MS Teams features and advanced functions
- Using Outlook more effectively including calendar features
- Using OneNote.
Additionally, The Care Group uses MS Teams as our main mode of telecommunications and have been able to set up numerous hunt groups smoothly including recently for our advocacy services which has had around 19,000 inbound and outgoing calls over the last three months.
The IT team can also provide Clinical Systems training and has completed EMIS training to 255 of our 0-19 staff.
The Care Group is proud to be investors in staff training especially in the area of IT and can offer this training to staff within Primary Care.
Digital Accelerator Programme
The Tower Hamlets Digital Accelerator is working to increase the uptake of three digital tools amongst practices and patients. These tools are:
- Online registration form for new patients in each borough
- The NHS App
- The use of a total triage model within practices
The digital accelerator is keen to encourage the use of these tools in the way we work across North Eeast London within our practices and with our patients to provide access to healthcare because:
- It provides an easier and more responsive patient journey where the quality of care they receive is quicker and better
- It provides better use of our practice workforce by using a more efficient process
- It ensures patients will always be able to have access to healthcare within or outside of practice hours.
- It empowers patients to take control of their healthcare where possible.
