Jubilee Street Practice has retained its outstanding rating, following a recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection. The practice serves residents in Shadwell, Limehouse and Stepney Green in the heart of Tower Hamlets.
The CQC published their report on 2 March after the assessment in December 2025 noted that the practice was excelling in being responsive, effectiveand well-led. The report highlights the ways people were involved in assessing their own needs and understanding their care and treatment. This supported giving choice in the care and treatment they received while retaining best practice and being based on the latest evidence.
Managers were noted as working with the local community to deliver the best possible care and being receptive to new ideas. The inspectors wrote: “There was a culture of continuous improvement with staff given time and resources to try new ideas.”

Virginia Patania, Practice Manager, made it clear that this was something they had been working towards since their last inspection in 2016, which also received an outstanding result. Since then, they made it their mission to build new areas of healthcare work. They have focused on their wellbeing hub and how they collected evidence and built reports to demonstrate its value. The inspection coincided with several activities at their wellbeing hub including a riverside walking club led by a practice nurse and a men’s jiu jitsu session, which gave inspectors an opportunity to speak directly with patients.
The inspectors responded positively to how well they share and scale the work across neighbourhoods through the Primary Care Networks.
Virginia shared that becoming a limited company, with support from the Care Group, helped provide transparency to their leadership structure and share leadership throughout the practice. In this way, delegated authority was given through structured roles rather than goodwill. This meant that all colleagues, including nurse leads and administrators, were part of putting together evidence of the the excellent healthcare being delivered.
Virginia Patania, Practice Manager, said: “We are incredibly proud of this result and deeply grateful to our staff, patients and partners whose support makes this work possible. We are humbled by this achievement. This recognition reflects the unwavering commitment, compassion and professionalism demonstrated every day by our entire team.”
