Tower Hamlets GP Care Group says goodbye to one of its founding Board members this month when Vice-Chair, Dr Joe Hall, steps down.

Dr Hall, a GP Partner at Bromley by Bow Health Partnership, has been a member of the GP Care Group Board since the organisation’s formation in 2014. He has represented Primary Care Network (PCN) 6, covering parts of Mile End and Bow. Dr Hall will be replaced by Dr Khyati Bakhai, also from Bromley by Bow Health Partnership. Dr Hall was thanked for his service and given a fond farewell at the Board meeting on Thursday 12 March.

Dr Simon Brownleader, Chair of Tower Hamlets GP Care Group, said: “As a member of the Care Group Board since its beginning, and Vice Chair for eight years, Dr Joe Hall has played a key role in shaping our vision and direction. His thoughtful leadership, commitment to innovation, and passion for improving access to care have made a lasting impact across Tower Hamlets. We thank Joe warmly for his insight, dedication, and all he has brought to the organisation, and wish him every success for the future.

“We are also delighted to welcome Dr Khyati Bakhai to the Board. A respected GP and healthcare leader in Tower Hamlets, Khyati brings experience in primary care development, integration, and education. Her strategic vision and commitment to improving patient care will be great assets as we continue to strengthen our local primary care and community services.”

Dr Khyati Bakhai said: “It’s a real privilege to join the GP Care Group Board and support the vital work being delivered for our residents. I’m excited to collaborate with partners to improve access to care, reduce inequalities, and help shape services around the needs of our communities. I look forward to contributing to a strong and positive future for local primary care.”
