The Care Group has welcomed the results of its 2026 Staff Survey, which show improvements across all areas measured, reflecting a more positive experience for colleagues across the organisation.

The survey, conducted throughout April 2026, received responses from 200 colleagues and explored themes including wellbeing, inclusion, leadership, communication and recognition. Results improved across every survey theme compared with the previous survey in 2024.

Key findings include:

  • 87% of colleagues say they can be themselves at work without worrying how they will be accepted
  • 85% understand how their work contributes to the success of the Care Group
  • 84% say their manager cares about them as a person
  • 82% feel their role provides flexibility to balance work and personal life
  • 81% are motivated to do their best work at the Care Group.

The results reflect a workplace culture where colleagues feel supported, valued and able to contribute, with particularly positive feedback around management support, communication and speaking up.

The survey also identified opportunities for improvement, including workload, staffing levels, pay and career progression. These findings will help shape future workforce priorities and ensure colleagues' feedback continues to inform decision-making.

Nic Percival, Executive Director of People and Engagement, said:

"Our highest-scoring areas show that colleagues feel supported by their managers, informed about the organisation and safe to speak up. These are important foundations for a positive workplace culture. At the same time, we recognise the concerns raised around workload, staffing levels and career progression, and we are committed to taking action and reporting back on our progress. We are committed to making the Care Group not only a great place to receive care, but also a great place to work."

The findings will support the Care Group's ongoing work to create an even better place to work, helping colleagues thrive while continuing to deliver high-quality care and services to local communities.
