The community impact of Tower Hamlets GP Care Group has been highlighted in the organisation’s 2024/25 Annual Report and Accounts.
The report reveals performance improvements in services including Health Visiting in both Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest.
During the 2024/25 year, the organisation cared for more patients at the Tower Hamlets Urgent Treatment Centre at the Royal London Hospital while reducing the length of stay by 17%, to two hours, 48 minutes.
During the year the Care Group underlined its commitment to working with General Practice by hosting a GP job fair and facilitating monthly Protected Learning Time sessions for Primary Care staff.
In addition, the Care Group was awarded a three-year contract to manage North East London (NEL) Training Hub, in partnership with Community Matters.
The report highlights the social value work of the Care Group, from promoting environmental sustainability and developing charitable partnerships, through to facilitating work placements in primary care for young residents and fully funded maths and English GCSE places for people in Tower Hamlets.
